1 Star Defective Earphones
I was extremely happy with these earphones when I first got them. The sound is fantastic and they are very comfortable. However, after approximately two months a short developed in the wire just above the headphone jack module. v-moda did replace them for me, however it took approximately 5 weeks for their return service. Then like clockwork, after approximately two months of use the replacement pair developed the same short.

This is especially disappointing because these are otherwise great headphones. However, with this obvious defect in their design, everyone should stay away from these earbuds.

4 Stars Pretty good for the price
After picking up a new iphone 3g decided to replace my 4 yr old Shure E2Cs.

In comparison, the V-Moda’s have better audio quality than my Shures (however it didnt block out as much ambient noise as the Shures did)

The V-moda’s are able to hit the highs and lows pretty well, much cleaner than the original iphone headphones

2 Stars So not worth the money
These headphones are great while they work. The sound is a lot better than the standard iPhone buds. However, 3 months after buying them, the audio in the left earbud is gone. If you buy these, plan on adding the price of shipping them back to Vmoda for a replacement to the cost.

5 Stars I love these earphones
Love them. The sound is fantastic–clear, crisp, and beautiful. I specially love the ability to answer my I-Phone while I am listening to music by simply pressing on the button on one of he wires. I was looking for something like this and tried other earphones, but these are the best so far.

3 Stars Very good, but costly, iPhone replacement headset
I was more than pleased with the V-MODA headset, and the quality of the materials and workmanship. But in rating a product properly, I think that all aspects must be examined to be fair. I would have probably rated this a 4 star if the price hadn’t been so high. I expected something very superior, at that price, and found that it was more than good, but not excellent. I was very impressed with the bass reproduction, but other frequencies were not supported as well. Had they been, and the price was more in line with Apple’s iPhone earbuds, I would have given this a 5 star rating.

1 Star Won’t work for more than 6 weeks of regular use despite 8/2008 re-design.
***hind sight — read only the iphone headset reviews citing at least 4 weeks of regular use. Don’t read the reviews saying “I just got these…”***

Unfortunately I’ve been through 4 warantee replacements. V-moda did redesign the faulty plug in August 2008 (to a Y shaped plug which was supposed to be more durable) but my latest replacement broke in the same amount of time as the old design.

I like the sound and design (when it worked). They are “isolating” ear buds, so understand that option when selecting a headset.

I did follow the warantee policy and V-Moda was good at providing replacements, but doing without my headphones for 6 weeks at a time was an inconvenience especially with the $99 price tag in mind.

I decided to write off v-moda, treat my last v-moda warantee replacement VERY gingerly, and go with the native iphone headset when I need to be active. (i.e. v-moda is okay when sitting at desk — do not use when washing the dishes, getting in and out of the car, etc.)

Until I hear about something more durable (or even better, a reliable, durable A2DP setup for iphone) I’ll stick with the native iphone headset.

3 Stars Requires a little bit of playing to get the right fit
I just got the V-MODA Vibe Duo earbuds/headset. I have to admit, I’m no audiophile so I don’t care all that much about the quality of the music. I do use my iPhone mainly as a PHONE so I wanted a comfortable headset. Not into bluetooth, so I wanted a wired set that had a good mic and easy access answer button.

I’m slightly disappointed. So far, on all the calls I’ve made I’ve had a hard time finding the little answer button on the mic. It’s not as convenient as the iPhone headsets that came with the phone. However, the earbuds themselves are infinitely more comfortable, which is the main reason that I purchased these.

I will admit, I had to go through nearly every size/color of the earbuds to find a fit that works. I would recommend that if you purchase these headphones that you do just that. I realize that the clear and the black silicone covers are supposed to just be a different “stylistic” thing, but I think that they actually fit differently. I also almost completely wrote off the large size, thinking that they looked way too big, but that’s what I ended up being happiest with. Honestly, they’re not a perfect fit (one of my ears is apparently slightly smaller/larger than the other), and I wish that they had in between sizes that you could order as an additional accessory.

The case I could honestly do without. It’s tiny and I can see it easily getting lost in my purse. I’ll probably just use my iPhone case or another small zippered bag that’s easier for me to dig out of the depths of my bag.

I’ve read that a lot of people felt that they weren’t durable, but since I’ve only had the set for a couple of days I cannot attest to that. I’ll possibly have to amend my review as I use them more often.

5 Stars They are the TOPS!
I have owned these headphones for almost a year now and have been very happy with their performance. Recently I did have a problem with them and had to contact V-moda for warranty service. This is where the really good part comes in….

It was very easy to work with these folks; they were polite, prompt and very fast at replacing my headphones with no questions asked. And the entire process from door to door only took about a week!

All products can have an issue- but its the service that separates the great products form the rest of the fray….

3 Stars They’re barely ok; the cheaper ones are more comfortable
I bought this a few month ago for my 3G. They are ok - definitely not worth the $100. I purchased a cheaper pair about a year ago for my 5th Gen iPod. They are much better especailly in comfort and value for money; love them. This $100 pair are not comfortable. The smallest rubber ear-pices are clumsy and do not fit well in my ear. In fact, they feel as though they will fall out at any minute. When they are actually, they don’t feel secure.

Like I said, they are ok and I guess I have to like them because of what I paid. However, I don’t think they are worth the money. The much hyped features - being to pause - is really nonsense and not worth the money.

2 Stars Good Sound, Good Customer Service, Poor Quality
I purchased a pair on December 5th, 2007. I’ve found the general fit and the sound quality to be good to excellent. But, to echo several others, my original pair quit working in April. V-MODA customer service was very responsive and returning and receiving a replacement pair went smoothly. But now, the second pair has quit working on October 15 with the same problem - loose connection within the jack causing one side to quit working. I’ve not been rough with these, always storing them in the case so it is unfortunate V-MODA can’t make a product that will work more than 6 months without problems.
