Important Note: Sound Effects
When using an auxiliary device in the car, you might hear a slight buzzing sound, engine noise, or high-pitched whine. That is because your car model has a grounding issue between the audio system and the power socket, which causes a whining or buzzing sound when you drive. This sound is not caused by your Kensington product; however, Kensington has an easy solution. Simply purchase an automotive ground loop isolator for your car that is compatible with a 3.5-mm jack. This simple tool will enable you to use your music in a safe, hands-free environment.

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star Save your money
I purchased the liquidAUX and used it for about a week. I found that the connection created static and slightly distorted the volume. Everything sounds better with just an Aux cable. - Don’t get the LiquidAUX

4 Stars Almost perfect iPhone dock
I have been using this product for a month now, and it’s almost perfect. I’ve only noticed two issues. The biggest issue with the dock itself is that on any turn I take quickly, the weight of the iPhone causes the dock to rotate and therefore fall over. The other issue is that when docking the iPhone, the remote frequently won’t work for several minutes. Other than that, it’s been a great dock.

3 Stars Could be better.
I would have gave this product a better rating but within my first week of getting it the size adjustment kind if broke. Then the rubber ring that made it stay up came off and I lost it so now my iPhone just hangs limp.

3 Stars A so-so product
Pros:

* Works pretty well in my Toyota Tundra after replacing the audio cable that comes with the product.

* Remote works 80% of the time

Cons:

* Had to replace crummy audio cable because the right channel would go out with the slightest bump of the car

* Remote does not work 20% of the time (even after replacing battery)

* “flexible” neck not very flexible. I can’t imagine this working well in many cars other than mine.

5 Stars Just What I Was Looking For!
I use this cradle with my iphone in my 2008 VW Beetle. It is exactly what I was looking for. It plugs into the aux input with cable provided, the flexible mount allowed me to position it perfectly. Sounds great. The remote worked well, allowing me to effortlessly switch songs. When the phone rings the music cuts off and I can easily answer with my headset.

4 Stars Works like a charm on my Honda Element
Not too much to add to existing reviews. Just wanted to let everyone know that it works nicely in my Honda Element.

Pros:

-Volume is fine: Signal to noise ratio seems acceptable and overall volume to radio is sufficient.

-There is no interference as noted in other reviews.

-Location of the charger and AUX port make this a perfect match.

Cons:

-As noted in other reviews, build quality is weak. I already had to superglue the cover plate on the charger. Not a big deal, but may speak of longevity. Probably a good idea to plug the device in, get it working, then do not touch it.

-Remote can be spotty at times.

-Sometimes the charger will not light up, but still appears to charge and function properly.

Other:

-I must recommend the Bracketron as a means to mount the Iphone. This helps keep the cables tidy and looks very cool, and lets the driver see the iphone screen.

Overall, a good device and worth the money. It has lived up to my expectations and I would recommend it for fellow Honda Element owners.

1 Star Cant use this w/o an auxiliary port
I did not realize that this product requires that the car have a direct auxiliary port. Since my car doesn’t have one, I haven’t been able to use it.

1 Star Plagued by loose connection problems
I had a Belkin cable with an audio aux port on the car power jack that worked great with my old iPod, but it wasn’t compatible with my new iPhone 3G. So I bought this Kensigton LiquidAUX to replace the Belkin cable.

The problem seems to be that both the audio and power jacks fit very loosely in the car’s power and aux ports. When both are plugged in properly, everything works as advertised. Unfortunately, the plugs tend to work their way loose, resulting in one or multiple of the following symptoms:

- Buzzing noise in audio

- iPhone not charging

- Remote not working

- iPhone message, “This product not designed to work with iPhone.”

Usually, wiggling the plugs or rotating them in the ports fixes these problems, but only temporarily. My power and audio AUX ports are in the center console storage area of my car, and it can be very distracting to have to open the lid and fiddle with these cables whenever there is a problem. The contacts on the power plug are spring loaded, but you can feel that the spring is very weak. I tried to live with it for a few weeks, but got so frustrated that I ultimately returned it. It’s a shame because in concept this is the exact product I’ve been looking for, but the quality is just plain junk. Save your money for someone else to come out with a better solution.

5 Stars Better than advertised!
I was somewhat worried about my purchase after reading the reviews…then I plugged it in and it is AWESOME! I am using it with the Iphone3G in my Subaru Outback and there is absolutely no problem to set it up. I got no error messages, and it was automatically paired with the remote that fits snugly on the steering wheel. The extra long cable is a nice feature, but the standard one is just fine for my setup. There is no whine or static over my car stereo, and I have cranked it up. The sound is incredible and the phone continues to charge while I play my tunes.

Now being stuck in traffic is no problem. This is a great product.

5 Stars The only way to go.
this is the only way to go if you want music from your i pod to your car.

great sound!!!
